Kia
Following last week's announcement of a recall in the US , Kia is recalling its Sedona MPV in the UK to correct two faults. Cars built between June and October 2004 are affected on the first count, and these will need to have modified wheel bearing caps fitted and where necessary, worn bearings replaced. A further 446 Sedonas, built in July and August 2004, may have had an incorrect oil pump strainer fitted; this will be replaced. Kia UK is contacting all known owners of these cars, who should take their cars to their local Kia dealers who will carry out the work free of charge. More information is available from Kia's helpline: 01189 458545 or by e-mailing.
Pride
Based on the Mazda 121(identical),nice 1.3 engine out of the mazda which is very lively, prone to wheel bearing failure which is a under statement due to the fact that you could end up changing the rear bearings every 18 months(needle bearings are very poorly made). Also I have had 4-5 cars 1999/ 2000v with the most rotten bonnets unbelievable, kia have got a seven year anti-corrosion warranty but unless you have a full kia service stamps they will not replace your bonnet, also parts are very stubborn due to the fact that nobody stocks the parts and you have to wait weeks for the parts to arrive(Korea).
These kia's have had the longest production run of any car without update of shape,so not exactly cutting edge design,I passed my test in one of these in 1991 and I bought one a few weeks ago 2000 reg and it was identical to the one I passed my test in.
